- During filming for the final episode of season 1, Sean Bean and the rest of the cast played football with Ned Stark's head. Bean admits that the cast had a little fun with the model of his detached head. When asked "Was it weird to see your own head on set" he replied: "It was a bit strange, yeah, a bit creepy. We just kicked it around like a football!"

Sophie Turner, AKA Sansa Stark, adopted the dog that plays her dire wolf. Lady, ad she's known on the show, is now named Zunni.

Maisie Williams who plays Arya Stark got his first acting role in the Game Of Thrones.

- The "horse heart" Daenerys ate for Khol Drogo on the show was actually a three pound mass of a gummy bear like substance.
